WHAT DEAN SAUNDERS SAID
Saunders, who spent three years at the Racecourse Ground between 2008 and 2011, told : “They are a brilliantly supported football club, but getting out of the Championship will be a tough task, as every year, three new Premier League teams come into the division with some quality players and parachute payments.
“However, they've got brilliant owners with plenty of money, so hopefully they spend a little bit, and the team can challenge at the top of the league and maybe even get promoted in the next few years. If they could even get in the playoffs, that's always a lottery where they could thrive and get promoted.
“I hope they do go up within the next few years, as I would love to have a Welsh team back in the Premier League, especially one I have such close connections with. I certainly wouldn't bet against them being in the Premier League within the next couple of years.”
